MA in Political Studies with Work-Based Learning

PUG also supports the Master of Arts in Political Studies with Work-Based Learning, offered by the Department of Political Studies at the University of the Western Cape. This programme addresses the increasing recognition of work-based learning as a valuable approach to higher education, offering benefits for both students and society. It aims to bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice by placing Master’s candidates in research internships with civil society or government organisations engaged in political research. The programme duration is two years for full-time students and three years for part-time students. See the UWC website for more information.

Internship Programme

Our internship programme aims to provide a unique and enriching experience for students interested in political and urban governance-related research. This programme offers an opportunity to engage in research-related tasks and gain practical skills. The programme’s objectives include providing research experience, skills building and professional development, and networking opportunities. Details will be posted here when available. Please check back for updates.
