Improving communication channels between residents in Khayelitsha and the City of Cape Town Workshop

Collaboration in improving service requests

BM Section residents who took part in the UWC study. 25 participants will take part in the workshop

 

Workshop Outcomes:

  1. Recap and understanding of challenges residents in BM face regarding service reporting channels
    • What works; what doesn’t and why
  2. Suggestions from residents regarding more effective ways of reporting faults and supporting the servicing of sanitation 
  3. Brainstorming with CCT officials and the Mayor as to what could be improved on and what could be done differently. Matching needs, suggestions and CCT logistical non-negotiables (with an open minded approach). 
  4. What services the City offers to Informal Settlement (include the type of ablution facilities we have to offer and the reasons for them)
  5. Understanding how the system works and do a live demonstration on how to report
  6. Date for feedback to the workshop participants on progress.
