Call For Applications: JUT Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and PhD Scholarship
This is a call for recent masters and doctoral graduates to apply for one PhD candidacy and one Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the NRF-funded Governing the Just Urban Transition project at the Politics and Urban Governance Research Group, UWC. The PhD scholarship is for three years (R120 000 annual funding) and the Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is for two years (R300 000 annual funding). Candidates for both positions should hold a relevant degree in fields such as political studies, geography, sociology, regional and urban planning, development studies, or economics.
Candidates for the PhD scholarship must hold a Masters degree (average 65%); be 32 years of age or younger in the year of application.
Candidates for the Postdoctoral Research Fellowship must hold a Doctoral degree completed not more than 5 years ago; be 45 years of age or younger in the year of application; be an outstanding and innovative researcher whose accomplishments have the potential to make a major impact in his/ her field; and be experienced in qualitative research (data collection and analysis).
